Re: Knights

There is a order of Knights in Eryndor. We just don't talk about it... openly.

Re: Knights

The Order i have in mind would be an Order of Knights, or the equivalent, dedicated to a code of Chivalry/Honor and the Service of their particular Unit. The Order would strive to better one's fighting skill, garb/medieval experience quality, leadership, service to their unit, and the experience of the game for all participants. The Order would be Unit-less, and would have ranks, with trials and requirements associated with those ranks.

My main goal in this is to better my dagorhir experience, personal character, and give me something to work towards, even though i have multiple ranks and challenges that are already available. (im not even a fighter yet.. ;p) I also think this will be a lot of fun, and would like to see if anyone else was interested in trying this out with me, and would also appreciate some input from experienced fighters. Ive only been fighting for 2.5 years, but have not been able to attend many events, so i would appreciate as much input as possible.

I'd be up for giving it a go. I'm basing my character around the knightly figure.

Well, I just stumbled upon this thread, and I must say that I positively love the idea of forming a unit-less group of feudal knights based around the tenets of chivalry and honor. A group like that, in my opinion, is desperately needed in Eryndor (I like knights!). You've got some intriguing ideas here, Jostal.

Are you planning on incorporating heraldry into the unit? I've been reading up on the art of armory as of late, and I could help devise a set of colors, a blazon, or an emblem for this unit if you would like. For FREE. Interested?

I'd be a-go for the Knight unit. I already wear a Knight and/or Templar outfit when I fight anyway. So, it be's a prefect fit!

Re: Knights

the way jostal describes it sounds too familiar.
i was talking to a friend about a similar group for the same purposes, to make characters and the overall dagorhir experience better for the group.
im not saying "he stole my idea" as mine was inspired by miyamoto musashi and was more of a fellowship of ppl from different chapters/units/realms.
mine is still a mere idea but now that ame is involved i think you guys should give it a go but if you do this consider some kind of ceremony for ppl who join.

another idea.....jousting in eryndor??

Re: Knights

Earlier posts in this thread (perhaps jokingly) have played around with the idea of calling this group "The Order of the Lion." This sounds pretty cool to me, but I see the lion as overused in historical heraldry. To be specific, the Kingdoms of Scotland and England both feature heraldic lions in their respective royal standards. Below is the Royal Standard of the United Kingdom, with Scotland's standard in the upper right hand corner and England's in the upper left and lower right:

The typical rampant lion just seems a bit trite in this particular instance.

How about something really Eryndor-flavored? For example: "The Knights Everledden," or "The Everledden Order." It would be a group dedicated to the cause of restoring the lands around Belegaria and Westend, with the ultimate goal of vanquishing Maegamarth and rebuilding Belegar.

Or, we could always go with Jostal's original idea of basing this order out of the Calad Mountains in Forfalas. Any suggestions?

Re: Knights

The Everledden is overdone in my opinion. Make the world bigger by exploring something other than the Forest central to Crusader storyline. Then, everyone wins because there is a badass knight group and the mythical world is that much bigger because of it.

BTW This is Muhdurin...I am too lazy to sign into my account.
