Those going to Badon Hill, a MUST READ

Everyone who is going to Badon Hill, I would like to tell everyone some important things for you all.

If everyone remembers at Rag this year, and those who went to Ides of March as well, it got cold at night a number of nights there, and some of us did not have good sleeping gear to keep warm in. I would like to remind everyone that it is a good chance that it could get just as cold, or colder at Badon Hill. One major reason is the fact it is at the end of Sept, and the fall has started. Also, we will be in the mountains a bit, and a little bit higher in the elevation. It is guarenteed to be cold at night, and just for the sake of everyone, and thoses who want to watch out for everyone, PLEASE BE READY FOR ANY KIND OF WEATHER!!!

Have some extra blankets, or a thicker sleeping bag, or share a bag or blanket with someone(your choice of male of female). Do what you need to do in order to keep warm. Also, be sure you have some warm clothes to wear at night, or even during the day. We don't want anyone getting sick, and end up in the hospital, so please be prepared for anything.

Another thing I would like to point out is last year, it rained just about all day Friday, and most of Saturday during fighting, so make sure you have all of your items (clothes, blankets/sleeping bags, weapons) dry. It sucks sleeping in a wet shirt or blanket, and trying to find someone who has extra gear you can use because your's failed due to being too wet.

Yes, I know I am sounding like a worried mother, or some scout master, but trust me, you all will have a better time being warm, than freezing your butts off not being smart.

See everyone there.

Other fun fact -- SLEEPING BAGS are deisnged to keep in your body heat and help you "self cook". Blankets have no such technology.

One sleeping bag > several normal blankets.

That is why I added the option to share it with someone. Sharing body heat is one of, if not, the best way to get warmed up.

Now, who wants to help warm me up? Anyone? Anyone?

All I remember about Badon last year was throwing-up, sleeping, feeling dizzy, throwing-up, fighting, spear to the gut, throwing-up, sleeping, staggering, then going home. Stomache flu + event = no fun.

A reminder for all of those going.

According to weather.com, the weather is going to be rather, no fun. On Thursday, it is saying it will be a high around 69, with a 40% chance of T'Storms. This looks to be the warmest day of them all.

Friday is going to be in the 50s, and maybe a little bit of rain in the morning. It is going to gett cold at night, so STAY WARM! Low 40s cold.

Saturday is going to be a little warmer during the day, but still cold at night. Low 40s again, if not colder.

I am getting most of my gear packed tonight, and I plan on staying warm throughout. I advise everyone to do the same. A smart rule to go by is, think of what "could" happen, and pack for it.

I know I said I plan on keeping people warm through my body, but I am only one man, and I plan on keeping only a few warm, (only single people). Athron is the exception.

I almost died of hypothemia last year at Badon Hill.

Lesson learned: if you must sleep naked...keep your clothes close by...just in case the lust-heat dissipates and you are left shivering and too cold to get up and grab your clothes.

You are welcome for that advice. It is based off an old Bedouin parable. Or something.

Weather Channel online says that although it's calling for a few showers on Friday, the rest of the weekend should be clear and around 65 degrees. Perfect fighting temp if you ask me!
