Eryndor: Love August 10-12, 2012
It's something terrible, something inevitable...
What do you do when the one thing you fought to prevent finally happens?
Dark energies are on the rise at this event. The relics and statue pieces, held by various places or people, are being contested around all of Eryndor. Battles between good and evil rage on from Eredhel to the seas.
Place: Leafy Oaks Campground
6955 Portland Road
Clyde, OH 43410
(Yeah, it's the Dead Marches site.)
Price: $20.
Troll opens at 11:00 AM on Friday. Weapons check is at Troll. What does this mean? It means when you check in, get your equipment checked. Pretty simple.
Schedule of Saturday:
10:00 AM - 1:00 PM: Battles. (More info on battles once I learn about 'em)
1:00 PM - 3:00 PM: Lunch time, swim time, stop being hot time, nap time, whatever you want to do time. Cool down and relax, get ready for stage two of battling.
3:00 PM - 7:00 PM: This is an optimistically late ending time for, you guessed it, more battles. Weather pending, battles will last till 7:00, but we all know how terrible the heat has been this summer. If it's in triple digit heat, they could end at 5:00. Once again, more info on the battles to come.

Re: Eryndor: Love August 10-12, 2012
The pre-event story, to set the stage:
Jayne entered the small audience chamber and seated himself in the chair at the head of the table. Surrounding it were his advisors reclining in camp chairs with their notes and tablets ready for the morning’s briefing.
“Alright gentlemen and ladies, what is the state of the continent?”
Eldegrim threw a leg over the arm of his chair “The Maiden is ready to set sail, and the shipyard is running at full steam not that Thorgrim has a popper port to work in.”
Toland shuffled through his pile of maps and troop movements, “Lord High Constable Farion has done as you ordered and dispatched a force into the Everledden. Sir Ame Corthos is in command, and it is a veteran force made up mostly of former crusaders.”
“Excellent, and what news from our spy network?” Jayne turned to look at Leos.
Leos slowly leaned forward, resting his elbows against the table. His area was conspicuous as he was the only one with no notes to read from, he exhaled a long sigh and began. “Everything is going as bad as possible.”
“Care to elaborate?”
“Oh, is that really necessary? I suppose I could expand upon all the many ways everything is setting up to kill us all, but I thought you might like sleeping at night. Fine, here we go. Your troops in the Everledden are doomed, there is some sort of monstrous horde that has been roaming there recently and they are going to love slaughtering all out veterans and leaving us with no seasoned soldiers to protect us. Then there’s the fact that it doesn’t matter anyway because there is a lot of movement around the Black Castle, which as usual means someone, probably us, is going to get decimated. We don’t know what they are going to do, none of my sources are suicidal enough to get too close, but we know it is big even for them. Then we have word that a rouge ship has been spotted off the coast but it runs away at the first sight of anyone else, probably someone spying back at us. Then there is the news of increased thief activity near Hithdor, which is already messed up enough since the peasant revolt. Oh, and if that isn’t enough the fishermen on the docks keep talking about a sea monster.”
Toland grunted dismissively, “Bah, you’d bring fisherman’s tales to the council. I said you were a fool to appoint him as your spymaster Jayne.”
“You are hasty to ignore such reports, there are things in this world that you would never comprehend.” Novariel said looking around the table.
“Right, next you’re going to tell us that there actually is a dragon inside a volcano. I swear a person sees smoke and fire and immediately jumps to the most ridiculous conclusion even though everyone knows there are no dragons.” Toland threw up his arms in disgust, “I believe in the things that actually exist, like elves, dwarves, undead, necromancy, and light energy, not fairy tale hocus pocus.”
Jayne hammered his cup against the table, “Let’s get this back on track. Leos how large is the force in the Everledden?”
“About one and a third times the size of the force your new Lord High Constable dispatched.”
Toland scoffed, “How do you know the size of the force Farion sent into the woods.”
“Because I do my job.”
“That’s enough; we still have time to send more soldiers to help and maybe prevent a rout, dispatch another company to assist them.” Jayne’s voice left no room for argument. “Now for the other great matter at hand, Eldegrim how soon can you have The Contrary Maiden stocked and set to sea?”
“By noon if the men are sober, sunset if they are not.”
“Good, I am sending you on an important mission, Thogar will be accompanying you.”
“You’re putting a dwarf on a ship?” Atalan looked appalled.
“Indeed I am, he is carrying an item of great value. You are to sail off the coast, don’t tell us how many days for it is better we do not know, then you will leave him in a launch and sail out of sight for a day then return once he has disposed of the object. This way no one will ever be able to find it again.”
“I still find it cruel to do such a thing to a friend.” Atalan shook his head.
“Aye, but there is no better way to make sure something is never found at sea than to have a dwarf be involved,” Eldegrim considered the notion. “We all best be grateful that I am so very lucky and pray it will outweigh the curse of bringing a dwarf on a boat.”
