Re: Fury of the Called October Day Event

Hey everyone! As head weapons checker and resident Garb Nazi I would like to make a few announcements and let everyone know they can contact me with any questions.

Announcement one: I know this shouldn't need announcing but I am doing it anyway. This is NOT a Halloween event so please wear passing garb as currently defined by the MOA on the Dagorhir website. If it is cold, wear your hoodies and under armor UNDER your passing garb. If you are not in passing minimum garb you will not fight. No questions. Thanks!

Announcement 2: as with the previous announcement, we will be adhering to the CURRENT MOA rules as passed at Ragnarok this year. So bring out your plasti-dipped shields if you want and educate yourself with the new weapon spec rules if you haven't already.

Once again, if you find you have any questions please send me an email at hanch1vm@cmich.edu . I look forward to seeing all of you cool cats out at our event! It's gonna be fun!

Question: Will my 2.5 in speed bat pass still for specs or are you not allowing them anymore because of the new moa that doesn't take effect yet?

Also a note for those of you who can swing it, Fury has their weekly practices on Friday (2) and Sunday (1) so if you can come up for more than one day you can get several days worth of fighting.

Re: Fury of the Called October Day Event

Here is the event storyline.

From the Ashes of Belegar
In the Hall of Kings a plan was made, to repair that which had been broken, to restore that which had been lost. The once proud nation of Belegaria now laying in ruin and nowhere was that more apparent than in the city of Belegar. The once proud and powerful city lay in desolation. Any attempt to restore order to the area must begin here. To that end, the leadership of The Fury of the Called created a provisional government, with Lugh Jayne as acting Steward, to make this a place of peace once again.
Before the ink had dried on the agreement troops were on the move. Elves and Men were quickly dispatched to the area where the Crusader forces had staged the invasion of the city, but it was not found as they had left it. The wheels on the wagons were broken, the tongues smashed to pieces. Fortunately for the crusaders the supplies were still unspoiled and undamaged. While the leaders of the expedition began to wonder how long it would take to repair the wagons a dwarf called out that they wouldn’t get the chance; it was a trap, the last of the dark forces were already moving in on them. Knowing they would be unable to rebuild the city or feed the army without these supplies half of the force took up defensive positions while the other half grabbed what they could carry and quickly made for the city promising to return and relieve their comrades as soon as they could.

With all the supplies they could retrieve now safely in the ruins of the city the men and women of the Crusade looked to rebuild the city. Alas, the fight was not over, lacking leadership and their trap already used the last of the undead made their way to the city. The forces of the crusade know that they must repair the crumbling walls and broken battlements to make the city safe again, but can the defending forces hold the undead at bay or will the undead onslaught be ferocious enough to draw the builders back into service and prevent the cities repair?

With the last of the undead finally dealt with the question of who would stay in Belegar became common. With the disappearance of Maegamarth and the undead king Riadarin slain the Crusade found itself directionless. Some wanted to stay and build a bastion of light. Others were uninterested in anything but the destruction of dark creatures and their masters.

Over many months the city is rebuilt and the people of Belegaria begin to come out of hiding as orcs and undead become a rare sight in the land. Easily the most important addition was the sprouting of a new Lifetree within the walls of the city, growing rapidly under the watchful eyes of the elves of Edheliu and as it grew the darkness that seemed to coat the land was purged bit by bit. Something almost resembling complacency begins to fill the minds of some of the former soldiers, and while running a city is a hardship all of its own no one is trying to kill you. Or so it seemed. First a scout or two didn’t return, then a whole patrol, and then around sundown a pair of wall sentries failed to return from their posts. The captain of the guard raised the alarm but a new enemy was already on top of the ramparts, their ladders discarded below. Who were these new men attempting to invade the city by darkness, who sent them, and more importantly who among them had the footing to fight so high above the streets?
