Set Town NPCs

OK... I am completly cool with being "in town" all weekend. Being the Cook/tavern-er. Would you guys like to have me also play the "parts" of the blacksmith, healer, bounty giver and the alchemist (whatever we decide on) or do we want a few other people in those parts?

Is there other people willing to take on Rolls as needed for the story?

And for the nongamers out there. NPC = Non Player Character.

I would hope that there would be more people than just you taking on those roles!

I think being a townie would suit me best, anyway. I volunteer.....if that's OK. I've never done anything like this before!

Rowan you should definitely be the Barkeep. Probably have some info on some "back alley" stuff. I agree with stell, to keep it dynamic and flava flav different peeps for different stores, cool thing is, these people could close there shop to take a break, or go fight some.
Maybe a couple people for shifts at the stores?

word.

And I don't have to be Elden Yin, unless whoever is going to be the Story Master wants me to be. I'll play whatever, I love to act, or try anyway.

Speaking of which, we need to decide on who's going to take all this stuff and put it together and make it work. aka Story Master

I vote Mithris for Story Master, just because it would be fun to watch him explain everything to everybody! I love watching Mithris talk emoticon

(Just kidding. Seriously, I have no clue what that job would entail!)

Re: Set Town NPCs

I know that Bordis (asashi) has volunteered to be an NPC for the weekend, selling information and running troll (run it in the tavern, I would think).

Then I think we should have someone in charge of the medical facility (stell?) to heal the injured and collect the fee. Also selling bandages (possibility) that can be used in the field.

Have someone playing a blacksmith/arms dealer that can improve weapons/shields and/or sell new ones.

Have some kind of shady back alley dealer that accepts ears for cool stuff, but he wanders around and may not even stay in town. So, you have to find him to trade with him.

I think people that will be weekend heralds should dress as hithdorian style guards (just use the herald tabards as part of the garb). Obviously they can wander around where needed but probably hang around town mostly. Heralds should use our walkie-talkies (if we still have those).

Also if we like the idea of the couple of captains, have some (non-herald) npc's play them, but they can wander out into the woods to fight or try to convince people to do quests for them. So these are "active" npc characters.

I actually own the two rechargeable walkie talkies with the recharging station... I took them back home to Atlanta after Rag... I'd happily mail them to someone who promises to take care of them, keep them charged, and return them next time I see them.

One of the walkies doesn't hold a charge for super long (but still works great), whilw the other one works perfectly EXCEPt channel 1 is non-functional... just use a different channel.

What kind of Walkies are they? I've got a pair of Motorola rechargeables sitting here, unopened....and I'd really rather not give them to my kids to use. Would they be compatible, do you think?

ETA: They're Motorola Talkabout T5000R
Says they have up to a 5-mile range.

I think shifts could probably be arranged, specifically for helping with heralding.
